The Nightmare Treatment Center website is an information resource for those interested in learning about nightmares, insomnia, posttraumatic stress disorder and sleep disorders and their complex inter-relationships. The website provides information and references which may assist you in determining if you or some other person you know may need help for these problems. The website also offers educational products for sale that contain self-help material for treating disturbing dreams and insomnia.

The website itself does NOT provide treatment.

Treatment services are only provided to those who engage in a formal therapeutic relationship with Dr. Barry Krakow at the Center for Sleep Medicine & Nightmare Treatment. Such treatments are offered through a variety of services including email, ICQ, telephone conferencing, videoconferencing or through in-person consultation. For any such treatment to occur in locations outside of the state of New Mexico - the physical site of the Nightmare Treatment Center - it must be mutually agreed upon that such treatment occurs within the jurisdiction of the state of New Mexico. Some states and other localities have very specific laws regarding the practice of telemedicine that may impact upon this condition for engaging in treatment. For some clients residing outside of New Mexico, it may be necessary to request a formal referral to the Nightmare Treatment Center by your physician or therapist, which will then place you in compliance with your local laws with respect to seeking and receiving treatment outside of your state. All information gathered through the Nightmare Treatment Center can thus be provided to your referring physician and therapist to facilitate your care.
